FRANKLINTON - Harold Lee Mitchell died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008 at his home. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Sept. 28, at Mt. Carmel Christian Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.

He was born in Granville County, the son of the late Jessie Le Mitchell and Mary Lizzie bragg Mitchell. He was the owner and operator of Mitchell’s Supermarket and Western Wear for 35 years and was a long-time farmer and cattleman.

Surviving: his wife, Peggy Wheeler Mitchell; son, Larry Mitchell (Eden); daughter, Karen M. Blackley (Robert); sister, Lucille Gooch (Harold); and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brassfield Fire Department, 1680 Highway 96, Franklinton, NC 27525 or to Mt. Carmel Christian Church, c/o Clara Parham, 5536 Antioch Road, Oxford, NC 27565.
