GARNER - Vera Mouser Rush, 73, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009 at home.

A funeral service was conducted Sunday, Jan. 4 in the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Montlawn Memorial Park.

A native of Johnston County, Vera was born to the late Emery Nicholas and Rena Ellis Mouser.

She is survived by her children, David Pearce (Janice), of Wake Forest, Jackie Johnson (Benny), of Garner, Deborah Buswell (Dennis), of Hannibal, Mo., Debbie Rush Conner, of Louisburg; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Amzie Hamilton, of Garner.

She was predeceased by her husband, John Wesley Rush, and a son, Jerry Pearce.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Hospice, 1626 Jeurgens Court, Norcross, Ga. 30093.
