LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Bessie Battle Williams, 94, who died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, were Friday, Jan. 9, at St. Stephens Baptist Church, with the Rev. Emma Solomon officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Surviving: daughter, Marie Jenkins of Arlington, Va.; sisters, Rochelle, Patty, Queen Esther and Gladys; brothers, Maryland, Hardie and Jonathan; and six grandchildren.
