CASTALIA - Funeral services for Robert Alston, 50, who died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, will be at 1 p.m. today (Saturday, Jan. 17) at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bobby Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving: wife, Barbara J. Alston of the home; daughters, Samantha of Wendell and Keona of the home; sons, Marcus and Daryl of Rocky Mount and Quinton of the home; parents, Ellis and Irene Alston of Castalia; sisters, Eula Leonard of Spring Hope, Joyce Cunningham of Ft. Leavenworth, Ks., Daphine Thomas of Centerville and Maxine Perry of Louisburg; brothers, Ray Alston of Castalia and Emmanuel Alston of Greenwood, Miss.; and five grandchildren.
