YOUNGSVILLE-Edward Hick Allen, 79, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009 at Wake Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donnie Cash officiating.

He was born in Bracelet County, Va., the son of the late Maggie Morris Allen and Wesley Allen.

Surviving: wife, Elizabeth Davis Allen; children Linda Ellis (Eric) of Youngsville, Edward Lee Allen (Dale), Steve Allen (Jan), all of Wake Forest, and Sarah Ann Davis of the home; brother, John Henry “Jutt” Allen of Wake Forest; sisters, Ruby Allen of Clayton, Minnie Pearce of Oxford, Meda Link of Durham; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
