HENDERSON - Martha Odell Pernell, 86, formerly of the Alert Community, died Friday, Jan. 16, at Carebridge Assisted Living Center in Louisburg. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan, 23, at Flowers Funeral Home, Henderson, conducted by the Rev. Leon Pernell. Burial will follow in the Pernell family cemetery.

Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Albert C. and Ella Faulkner Pernell. She was a homemaker and a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving: son, Earl Jackson Pernell of Warrenton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
