LUCILLE B. BURCHETTE


ZEBULON - Lucille Baker Burchette, 92, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009 at the Coventry House in Zebulon.

Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, Knightdale, with the Rev. Mark Cottrell officiating. Graveside service was at 1 p.m. Monday at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.

She was born in Franklin County to the late William Kearney “Doc” Baker and Minnie Herman Pearce Baker. She retired with 28 years of service as an accounting clerk with the N.C. Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Surviving: daughter, Diane B. Rose (Steve) of Zebulon; son, David N. Burchette (Carol) of Clayton; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Cozart Burchette, and her sisters, Hazel Perry, Maggie Pearce, Dovie Timberlake, Bonnie Rogers, and Betty Perry.
