RALEIGH - Funeral services for Eddie Mae Alston Durham, 71, who died Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 25) at Macedonia New Life Church on Rock Quarry Road in Raleigh. The family will receive friends from 12 to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Raleigh.

She was born in Franklin County to the late Rev. Ben Vick and Ethel Duck Alston. She taught school for more than 30 years in Bunn.

Surviving: husband, Van Dawson Durham of the home; one brother, McArthur Alston of Rocky Mount; and a host of other relatives and friends.
