DURHAM - James Wesley Perry, 77, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Feb. 25) at Bethesda Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Hugh O’Shields. Interment will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.

He was born in Franklin County to the late James Raymond and Iva Raye Perry. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement, he was a claims adjuster for approximately 36 years.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline Oakes Mlakar, and a brother, Frederick Vann Perry.

Surviving: wife, Carolyn L. Perry; daughter, Erica Perry of Durham; brother, Alex Macleod Perry (Helen) of Cape Carteret; many nieces and nephews.
