FRANKLINTON -- Franklinton's new-look offense got things going, but it was the Red Rams' defense that came through in the clutch down the stretch to preserve a 31-21 home victory over rival Bunn in non-conference prep football action Friday night.
FHS, behind wide receiver-turned-quarterback Lyeshon Parker, scored on its first two plays from scrimmage and help the Red Rams (1-0) build a comfortable lead before the Wildcats rallied to within three points in the second half. Franklinton's defense, which had already contributed a score off an interception, then held Bunn (0-2) on three occasions in the red zone to help Coach Jimmy Williams' club maintain its cushion.
