When a community cares, good things happen and that community becomes a better place

LOUISBURG -- Almost everyone has heard the line of prayer that states, "Give us Lord, our daily bread."
One Franklin County organization is making that prayer the literal cornerstone of its goals -- and they define "bread" very, very broadly.

IT WAS HARD WORK
IT WAS HARD WORK

Filling all those food bags and making sure the mix of items was the same in all of them was a huge -- and heavy -- task. And despite the fact that he came to town bearing a huge gift, he didn't look a bit like Santa himself, so it's likely he's one of Santa's helpers.
Reed doesn't have a large, bushy white beard, didn't wear a bright red suit for his visit and apparently arrived in a motor vehicle, not a sleigh pulled by reindeer.

Santa Claus will need a bigger sack for holiday cheer this year

If you've seen the December editions of The Franklin Times, you know that Santa, or at least his proxies, has been to every corner of Franklin County -- from Bunn to Youngsville to Franklinton to Louisburg to Alert and White Level -- spreading joy and good cheer.
So, as what has become sort of a tradition for my Christmas column, let's see what Santa can bring to our communities.
