Alert parade
The Alert Christmas Parade is Saturday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. Line-up will start around 1 p.m. There is no entry fee.

Bunn parade
The Bunn Christmas Parade will be Dec. 13, starting at 10 a.m.

Coats for Christmas
The annual “Coats for Christmas” is under way.

New or good used coats can be dropped off at the Village Cleaners, Franklin County Farm Bureau insurance office or the Youngsville Library.

Coats will be cleaned by Village Cleaners and taken to Care & Share, Senior Citizens Center and other places of need. Last year, more than 150 coats were collected. For more information, call Wayne Champion (919) 496-2051.

Live nativity
Rock Spring Baptist Church will host its annual live drive-through nativity on Dec. 12-14, from 7-8:30 p.m.

The event is free to the public. In the event of rain, it will be canceled. The church is off N.C. Highway 39, 3 miles north of Bunn and is visible from the highway. For more information, contact the church at (919) 496-6229.

Kettle Drive
The Salvation Army Kettle Drive continues.

Volunteers are slated to be on site at the Louisburg Wal-Mart location on Bickett Boulevard every day, save for Sundays. For more information, contact Anita Fuller at the Salvation Army office in Henderson at (252) 438-7017.

Workshops
Art du Jour, 210 E. Nash St., Louisburg, will have two workshops on Saturday, Dec. 13. The first one, “Designing Christmas Cards,” will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., and is for ages 6 and over. The second workshop, “Making Book Out of Paperbag,” will be at 1 p.m. and is also for ages 6 and over.

Lights and Santa
Harris Chapel Baptist Church is having a Christmas drive-thru lights and Santa at 101 Uncle Dave’s Lane (1/4 mile from 401/98 intersection on 98E) on Saturday, Dec. 13, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Donations accepted for Franklin County Relay for Life.

Christmas dance
The Louisburg Senior Center will have its Christmas dance on Friday, Dec. 19, from 7:30-10:30 p.m. All mature adults 40+ are welcome to attend. The featured band will be the Troubadours. For more information, contact Christy at (919) 496-1131.
