Eddy Lucas Boyette

Louisburg, NC--Eddy Lucas Boyette, 76 of Louisburg, NC passed away June 22, 2023 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC with his wife and son by his side.He was born in Wilson County, NC July 24, 1946, to the late Malvern Lee and Onnie Lucas Boyette.

The funeral will be Tuesday, June 27th at 2:00 p.m. at Louisburg United Methodist Church, 402 N Main St, Louisburg. The visitation will be in the church fellowship hall from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Eddy retired from Franklin County Schools after 52 years in education as a teacher, coach, and mentor. He enjoyed spending time with his family and being part of the Louisburg United Methodist Church community as a member of the choir. He had a love for fishing, basketball, and NASCAR and will be fondly remembered for impacting the lives of many young people in Franklin County. His signature "blue" towel, piercing whistle, sideline pacing, and thunderous foot stomping were all parts of his competitive coaching style.

Eddy is survived by his loving wife of almost 44 years Marie Ayscue Boyette; son, Eddy L. Boyette, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren he loved and so proud of - Sasha and Ty Boyette; brother, Malvern Lee Boyette, Jr. of Pine Level, NC; special nephew, Ted Boyette, Jr. (Fay); nieces, Ava Parker (Z.B.) and Beth Boyette; adored great nieces, Caroline and Allison Boyette; numerous others he dearly loved from the Boyette and Ayscue families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an identical twin brother, Teddy Lamm Boyette; sisters-in-law, Brenda and June Boyette; and two infant sons.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Louisburg United Methodist Church, PO Box 667, Louisburg, NC 27549.
