Rickey Charles Alvis
October 29, 1942 - March 31, 2025

LOUISBURG, NC -- Rickey Charles Alvis, 82, of Louisburg passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025. He was born on October 29, 1942, to the late Charles Edward and Maxine Campbell Jones in Los Angeles County, California.

In addition to his parents, Rickey is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Alvis; brother, Jimmy Jones and sister, Rena Giammona.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Susan Weathers (Brian) and Elaine Grice (Phillip); sister, Pam Smith (Snuffy); his grandchildren, Dylan and Amber Weathers, Cason, Sydney, Jacob and Easton Grice; three great-grandchildren; special friend, Betty Patterson; sister in-law, Pamela Gower (Don), Sharron Freeman (Tom), and Rebecca Cooper; brother in-laws Paul Giammona and Joe Cooper (Judy) as well as several nieces and nephews.

Rickey served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a long-distance truck driver for many years as well as a tour bus driver for AT&T Tours. He was an avid train collector and loved to watch country westerns. Rickey loved his family and especially his grandchildren. He will be missed tremendously by his family and friends.

A Memorial Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Lancaster Memorial Park, 2210 Hwy 561, Louisburg, NC 27549 and will officiated by Pastor Doug Moore.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Duke University Medical Center for the exceptional care they provided.
