Lula Denton Bobbitt

FRANKLINTON, NC -- Lula Denton Bobbitt, age 100, of Franklinton, peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on March 29, 2025, because God needed another special angel to help care for all His adorable babies.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jeff Bobbitt in 1984 and 12 brothers and sisters, with the most recent in 2013 of Annie Morton, her cherished son-in-law, Tom Way, passed away in 2018.

Surviving to cherish all her golden memories are devoted son, Rayford Bobbitt, who was born on her birthday and wife, Fay; daughter, Betty Bobbitt Way; grandson, Greg Bobbitt and wife Gina; granddaughter, Tonya Morgan and husband Andrew; granddaughter, Susan Morgan; great granddaughters, Kristen and Katie and husband Matt; and great grandson Jacob Lee and great granddaughter, Layla; and special nephew, Marshall Haley. Also, two great great granddaughters, Peyton and Madelyn.

There are numerous Denton nieces and nephews; along with nieces, Pat Chappell (Robert) and Peggy Frady and their families who are loving relatives on the Bobbitt side; dear friends Peggy and Louis McAlister, Janie Bridges, and many wonderful friends and neighbors who showered amazing joy upon her long and happy life.

She was an awesome Christian role model to all her family and countless others in Union View Baptist Church and the town of Franklinton which she loved dearly. Her passion was working in the nursery at church and helping to lay a Christian foundation for all the children.

She was employed as a loyal spinner in Franklinton Cotton Mills for 45 years.

A celebration of her precious life was held at Union View Baptist Church on Wednesday April 2, 2025, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jonathan Chandler officiating. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. before the service. The burial was at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.

In lieu of flowers the family would be grateful for donations to Union View Baptist Church, 113 Chavis Street Box 505, Franklinton, NC 27525, to her loving memory and continue God's work through her amazing spirit.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, www.lancasterfcs.com.
