David "Jerry" Gerald Williams May 29, 1933 - March, 3, 2025
David "Jerry" Gerald Williams, 91, passed away on Monday, March, 3, 2025. Jerry lived a long, full life. He was born on May 29, 1933 in Louisburg, NC to John and Linnie Williams. He married Peggy Gupton in 1953. After Jerry's three years of honorable service in the U.S. Army Reserves, Jerry and Peggy did what it took to survive and support their growing family. Jerry worked at IBM and Addressograph-Multigraph Corporation, but found his passion in entrepreneurship when he and Peggy co-founded Carolina Embossing Service which became CES Mail Communications. What began in their living room grew to a family-run corporation serving businesses in the triangle area for nearly 60 years. Jerry obtained his real estate license and sold residential and commercial real estate while continuing to contribute to CES. Nearing retirement, Jerry enjoyed collecting Czechoslovakian pottery and art glass with Peggy. They had been married for 50 years when she passed. After Peggy's passing, Jerry drew strength from his family. He rediscovered joy in the pursuit of a deal, collecting vintage lighters and even a vintage car. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Linnie, his wife Peggy, his sisters, Louise Collier and Tennie Waters; brothers, Harold, Elmo and Eugene "Chick" Williams, and his second wife Landis Moffitt Williams. Jerry is survived by his children, David G. "Curly" Williams Jr., Pam (Pete) Currie, Jan (Kent) Reaves, Mark Williams, Steve (Jude) Williams; his eight grandchildren Lauren (David), Annie and Catherine (Pam), Jessica and Michael (Jan), David (Mark), Bridget and Daniel (Steve) and his great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Louisburg, NC on Saturday, March 8 at Noon. Pastor Charles Haley of Hickory Rock Baptist Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Dementia Alliance of North Carolina. Paid obituary
