LOUISBURG, NC -- Diane Layton, 83, passed away on March 29, 2025 at her home in Louisburg, NC, surrounded by family.

Diane was born on May 20, 1941, the daughter of Mattie Harrison Oakley. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her step-father William B. Oakley and her husband, Andrew Barrett Layton.

Diane enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a long-time member of Perry's Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir and going to lunch after church with her friends. She worked at The Franklin Times as a typesetter for more than 40 years.

Diane is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Marie Layton of Louisburg, NC; her grandsons, Tyler Layton, Parker Layton, Jake Layton; her sister and brother-in-law, Lindy and Lanny Wood of Eden, NC; her brother and sister-in-law, Woodrow and Linda Williams of Henrico, NC; and a nephew, Sam Williams of West Virginia.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Perry's Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Drake Downing officiating.
