William Dexter Grice "Joe AYSCUE"
BALLSTON SPA, NY -- William Dexter Grice "Joe Ayscue," age 81, of Ballston Spa, NY, formerly of Franklinton, NC, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025. Born on November 14, 1943, in Franklinton, NC, Joe was the son of the late Spotwood Burwell and Elizabeth (nee: Van Strickland) Ayscue. Joe's early years working on the family farm in Franklinton laid the foundation for the man he would become. At an early age, Joe began what would become his lifelong passion--arboriculture. He traveled up the East Coast to New York, working with various tree crews and eventually becoming the Head Foreman for Lewis Tree Service. In the 1980s, Joe's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Tanner Tree Service, a business that later evolved into T & T Tree Service. He quickly built a reputation as the best in the business, admired for his pride, commitment, and unmatched work ethic. Those who worked alongside him were constantly inspired by his dedication and passion for his craft. Joe had a natural gift for socializing, and he found joy in meeting friends for coffee, breakfast, or an afternoon cocktail. His presence brought comfort and laughter wherever he went, and he had the rare ability to light up any room with his warm smile and kind eyes. In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by his brother, Bill Ayscue and sister, Carrie Daniels. He is survived by his loving children, Tanner Grice and Taegan Grice; lifelong companion, Lori Newhouse; siblings, Hugh Grice, Gar Bailey Ayscue, Patricia Beckham and Charlene Finch; half-brother, Claude Edward Medlin and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends. A memorial gathering will be held on June 14, 2025, at 68 Ayscue Circle, Franklinton. Paid obituary
