KATHERENE ALLEN PATTERSON
RALEIGH - Katherene Allen Patterson, 80, died Monday, March 2, 2009 at her home. Katherene was born on May 22, 1928 in Person County to the late Lafayette David Allen and Mamie Meadows Allen. She retired in March 1983 as an Administrative Assistant with the N. C. Department of Human Resources. She was a member of Louisburg United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009 at New Hope Baptist Church, 4301 Louisburg Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.

The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service.

Surviving: sons: Preston A. Massey, Jr. of Oak Harbor, WA, Allen D. Massey of Nags Head; stepsons: Charles B. Patterson, II and wife, Kris of Miami, FL, Michael Low Patterson of Cary; stepdaughter: Mary Lynne Patterson Shepherd and husband, Taylor of Danbury; brothers: Lewis M. Allen and wife, Olivia of Cary, L. Jack Allen of Raleigh, Billy T. Allen and wife, JoLynne of New Bern; sisters-in-law: Virginia Allen and Mary Frances Allen, both of Raleigh.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Bernard Low Patterson on September 28, 2008; son, Norris A Massey; brothers, L. D. Allen, Jr., Carlyle E. Allen, and Adrian V. Allen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund, 4301 Louisburg Road, Raleigh, NC 27604 or Louisburg United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 667, Louisburg, NC 27549.
