EMMA SESSOMS DAVIS
LOUISBURG - Emma Sessoms Davis, 74, died at her home on Monday, March 9, 2009.

Mrs. Davis was born May 19, 1934 to the late William Oswald and Mary Leonard Sessoms.

She was a respected member of the local financial community, involved in mortgage banking for over 25 years. She was also an active member of Maple Springs Baptist Church for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Donald Davis, and a brother, William Sessoms.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Hendricks and son-in-law, Johnny Hendricks, both of Spring Hope; her son, Donnie Davis of Bunn; four grandchildren, Jay Hendricks, Craig Garrison, Brittney Davis and Amanda Davis; two sisters, Jane Gray and Mary Watson; and a brother, Donald Sessoms.

Family received friends from 7:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Strickland Funeral Home in Louisburg. Funeral services will be held at Maple Springs Baptist Church at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 11, 2009, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Maple Springs Baptist Church Youth Fund.
