LOUISBURG - Jewel Dennis Harris died Thursday, January 11, 2007. Woodrow Wilson Harris died Thursday, January 22, 2009. Memorial services were held Friday, March 20, 2009 from Oakwood Cemetery for family members with Dr. Reggie Rushing officiating.

Jewel Harris was born in Louisburg, the daughter of the late Frank and Menta Dennis. Woodrow Harris was born in Oxford and raised in Bunn, the son of the late Herman B. and Lallie C. Harris. Mr. & Mrs. Harris were childhood sweethearts who married as this country entered WWII. They always considered Franklin County as their heart’s home.

Surviving: daughter, Patricia Harris Morse of St. Augustine, FL; sons, Woodrow W. Harris, Jr. of Columbia, SC and Frank Dennis Harris of Melbourne Beach, FL; sister to Mrs. Harris, Rose Dennis Read of Louisburg, and sister to Mr. Harris, Marguerite H. Keeling of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The flag in front of the funeral home flies at half-staff in honor of Mr. Harris’ service to his country.

Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, Louisburg.
