R. L. “JIM” HORTON
LOUISBURG – Ronald Lee “Jim” Horton, 71, died Tuesday evening, March 24, 2009. Funeral service was Friday, March 27, at Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jared Pemper officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

He was a son of the late John Wesley and Maggie Horton. He was preceded in death by his sister, Hilda Glover; brothers, Wesley Horton, Charlie Horton and Hank Horton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Surviving: wife, Betty P. Horton; daughters, Lisa Johnson (Timmy) of Louisburg and Cyndi Blackwell of Garner; sons, Terry Horton (Terry) of Wake Forest, John Blackwell (Tammy) of Apex; sisters, Ruby Gilbert (John) and Sue Lewis, all of Louisburg; and three grandchildren.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary’s Street, Suite 400, Raleigh, NC 27605.

Arrangements handled by Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
