JOAN A. RAMSEY
ZEBULON - Joan Marie Anthony Ramsey, 77, died Sunday, April 19, 2009. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 22) in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home, Wendell. The Rev. Joseph Lapauw of St. Eugene’s Catholic Church will preside over the service and burial following in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Zebulon.

A native of Laurinburg, she was the daughter of the late Alex E. and Mary George Anthony. She worked for Snowden & Associates for more than 15 years until retiring to Oak Island.

Surviving: husband, Jason Herbert Ramsey; sons, Craig Ramsey (Melinda) of Zebulon and Jason Ramsey (Heather) of Davidson; brothers, Alex E. Anthony Jr. of Santé Fe, N.M., and Michael Anthony (JoAnn) of Raleigh; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Wake County Public Library Fund in lieu of flowers.

Visitation will be 12:30-2 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third Street, Wendell, prior to the service and other times at the home.
