FRANKLINTON- Bettie P. Porter Woodlief, 87, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Universal Healthcare in Raleigh. Funeral services were Friday, May 1, in the chapel of Hall-Wynne Funeral Service, Franklinton Chapel, Franklinton, with the Rev. David Averette presiding. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Born in Franklinton, she was the daughter of the late Spurgeon “Red” Porter and Lillie Wright Porter. She worked at Burlington Mills and later retired from Formex. She was a long-time member of Franklinton Baptist Church.
Surviving: cousins, Otha May (Betty Rose) and Rosemary Champion (Ronald), all of Franklinton; and many other cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Woodlief.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Bus Fund, c/o Franklinton Baptist Church, 102 W. Mason Street, Franklinton, NC 27525.
