LINDA G. PERNELL
HENDERSON - Linda Sue Goodson Pernell, 58, (Alert community) died Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount. Funeral services were conducted Friday, May 15, at Flowers Funeral Chapel in Henderson, conducted by the Rev. Leon Pernell. Burial followed in New Bethel Baptist Church cemetery.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Otha and Estelle Woodard Goodson. She was a former employee of Vance County Social Services and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Surviving: husband, Earl Jackson Pernell; daughter, Kristi Puckett of Henderson; son, Robert Kelly Puckett of Henderson; stepdaughter, Sandra Pernell of Smithfield; stepson, Mark Pernell of Spring Hope; sisters, Betty Jean G. Faulkner of Raleigh and Corrine G. Geter of Portsmouth, Va.; brother, Talmadge Goodson of Henderson; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Daniels.
