MARGARET B. PERRY
February 5, 1912 – May 25, 2009
LOUISBURG – Margaret Foster Button Perry, 97, of Louisburg, died Monday morning.

Mrs. Perry was born in Schenectady, NY. She graduated from Smith College and married Dr. William C. Perry (Dr. Bill) of Louisburg. During her lifetime, she served on the W.R. Mills School P.T.A., the Louisburg Garden Club, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Vestry and held other positions within the church. During her later years, she studied art at the Vance-Granville campus in Louisburg and became an accomplished oil painter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Bill, and grandson David L. Perry.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mrs. Perry is survived by her sons, William C. Perry, Jr. of Atlanta and Bennett B. Perry and wife Linda of Winston-Salem; grandaughter, Katherine Perry Bowman and husband Matthew of Winston-Salem; grandsons Will Perry and wife Anna of Birmingham, AL, Scott N. Perry and wife Kerry of Atlanta; 7 great-grandchildren, Noah Bowman, Tucker Bowman, Jacob Bowman, Wilson Perry, Hayden Perry, Carolina Perry and Austen Perry. Also surviving is her former daughter-in-law, Beverly Chapman, and husband Jerry.

The family requests that no flowers be sent and memorials be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 247, Louisburg, NC 27549

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
