Here’s what the 401 Citizens Action Committee is asking that you do:
1) Write a letter on your letterhead to U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood -- his formal title and address is on the model support letter.
2) Feel free to use either the suggested support letter -- which is set up to be easily customized -- or use any information from the “talking points” or your own personal experiences. The more you customize the letter to reflect your thoughts and opinions, the better.
3) Make and sign two copies of the letter and either give them to any member of the 401 Citizens Action Committee or mail them to Gary Cunard; 401 committee co-chair; P.O. Box 119; Louisburg, NC 27549
4) Accept the thanks and appreciation of the 401 committee which has been working for eight months to try to find funding to make U.S. 401 a modern highway that is not only safer but which also opens up central Franklin County to economic development and job creation.
Who can write? Anyone!!! Individuals, company owners and managers, members of civic or other clubs, churches, anyone who travels U.S. 401 toward Raleigh is welcome to write. We are seeking broad-based support and you are absolutely essential to our efforts.
