Judith H. Gatling
April 20, 1943 – September 10, 2009
SPRING HOPE - Judith Catherine Harris Gatling, age 66, died Thursday at home. She was the daughter of the late Huford and Lucille Wheless Harris.

A celebration of her life will be Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Duke Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, 4164 NC 581 Hwy., Spring Hope, NC.

Judy earned her nursing degree from Nash Community College. She worked as an R.N. at the Perry-Medders Medical Clinic and later at Nash County Health Dept. before retiring April, 2008. Judy had a special gift for nursing and gave generously of her time and talent to help a friend or neighbor.

She is survived by one daughter, Trina Mager; two grandchildren, Caleb Ray and Heidi Ray; a special friend and partner for nineteen years, Gerald Edwards; one sister, Genora H. Greene of Spring Hope; and two brothers, Charles Harris of Sping Hope and Julian Harris of Raleigh.

Judy was predeceased by her husband, Curtis Gatling; one son, Danny; and a brother, George Kelly Harris.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 12, 2009, 6-8 P.M. at Spring Hope Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the staff at UNC Hospital at Chapel Hill and Community Home Care and Hospice of Rocky Mount for their excellent care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Duke Memorial Baptist Church, Building Fund, in memory of Judy Gatling or Lucille W. Harris.

Arrangements are entrusted to Spring Hope Funeral Home, 7881 Webbs Mill Road, Spring Hope, NC 27882.
