DAPHINE L. MURPHY
October 18, 1916 – September 10, 2009
CASTALIA – Daphine Leonard Murphy, 92, of the Red Bud Community, passed away Thursday evening surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Murphy was a daughter of the late Benny and Eva Andrews Leonard and was preceded in death by her husband, Baldy Lee Murphy. She was a member of Red Bud Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Red Bud Baptist Church, with the Rev. Leo Lowery and the Rev. Robert R. Boone officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home of Rex and Sandra Murphy.

Mrs. Murphy is survived by her daughters and sons- in-law, Carolyn M. and Leonard Cannady of Raleigh, Patty M. and Art Rust of New York; sons and daughters- in-law, Bobby L. and Virginia Murphy, Rex and Sandra Murphy, Jerry and Linda Murphy, all of Castalia; sister Kelly L. Murray of Raleigh; brother, Staley Leonard of Castalia; grandchildren, William Leonard Murphy, Amy M. Keith, Alton Murphy, Amanda C. Helton, Lindsey Cannady and Mollie Murphy; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Red Bud Baptist Church, 1284 NC Hwy. 58, Castalia, NC 27816.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
