CLEMON E. NELMS
LOUISBURG - Clemon Edwin Nelms, 86, of Centerville, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009. Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Red Bud Baptist Church, Castalia. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

He worked for the State of North Carolina DOT for 39 years and was a life-long farmer. He was a member of Red Bud Baptist Church.

Surviving: wife, Ella Ruth Wood Nelms; sons, Larry Nelms of Centerville, Henry (Margaret) Nelms of Centerville, Julian (Gwynne) Nelms of Fremont; daughter, AndreĆ© N. (Rex) Foster of Centerville;  brothers, T. O. (Catherine) Nelms, Lloyd Nelms, Delton (Nancy) Nelms; sister, Carlette Nelms Adams; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin and Ensley Nelms; sister, Veryl Nelms Wood; and his parents, George Allen and Mary Collins Nelms.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Red Bud Baptist Church, 832 NC Highway 58, Castalia, NC 27816.
