DOW V. PERRY SR.
SALISBURY - Dow Vick Perry, Sr., 65, died Monday Oct. 5, 2009 at his home in Salisbury. A service celebrating his life was held Friday, Oct. 9, at First United Methodist Church in Salisbury, with Dr. Stephen D. Haines officiating. A private memorial service at City Memorial Park was held prior to the church service. 

He was born in Louisburg, the son of the late Hugh and Gladys Perry.  He was a graduate of Mills High School and NC State University.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Chancel Choir, a Sunday School teacher and on many committees. He was a captain in the US Army and was an executive at the Celanese Corporation during his 30-year career. 

Surviving: three sons, Vick Perry (Christie) of Seattle, Keith Perry of Raleigh, and Kent Perry (Teresa) of San Carlos, Calif.; sister, Jane Gray Pearce of Pleasant Garden, NC;  and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to First United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 217 South Church Street, Salisbury, NC 28144.
