J. WILSON NELMS
July 18, 1917 – November 22, 2009
LOUISBURG – Jones Wilson Nelms, 92, of Louisburg, died Sunday evening.

Mr. Nelms was a son of the late Thomas Norfleet and Sally Hicks Nelms and was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Arnold Nelms. He attended Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church and was an Army Veteran. He served as a volunteer in the community for many years.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Jared Pemper officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior the funeral.

Mr. Nelms is survived by his sister, Mavis N. Bunn of Garner; brother, William A. Nelms of Knightdale; special friend, Omega Strickland of Louisburg; numerous nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church, c/o Margie Martin, 133 Sam Horton Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549.
