BARBARA JEANE KEARNEY
RALEIGH - Barbara Jeane Kearney, 70, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, Dec. 3, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest, with the Rev. David Averette officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.

She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Troy and Jessie Irene Kearney. She retired from ABB/Westinghouse after more than 30 years of service.

Surviving: sister, Nancy Kearney Redman of Crewe, Va., and Sara Kearney Moody of Raleigh; brother, Howard A. Kearney (Dalua) of Creedmoor and Thomas A. Kearney (Deborah) of Wake Forest; six nieces and 10 nephews; four great-nieces and 21 great-nephews; and one great-great-niece.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Kearney, and by her sisters, Shirley Kearney Oakley and Betty Kearney Mendenhall.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary’s Street, 4th Floor, Raleigh, NC 27605.

Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service Thursday at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest.
