LOUISBURG - Ruby Powell Cashe, 85, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010 at Franklin Regional Medical Center. A celebration of her life was held Thursday, Jan. 28, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tom Ravan and the Rev. Julian Motley officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late Sallie Woodlief Powell and William Robert Powell.
Surviving: daughters, Linda C. Parrish (Cary) of Louisburg, Janet Cochran (Mark) of Springfield, Va., Karen C. Jones (Greg) of Youngsville; son, Gary M. Cashe of Youngsville; sister, Sallie Hunt Powell Kearney of Daniel Isle, S.C.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Thomas Powell, and by her daughter, Sallie Cashe White.
