JOSEPH B. WOODWARD
CARY - Joseph Blair Woodward died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010. A memorial service was held at Pine Ridge Baptist Church on Tuesday, Feb. 8.

His parents were Mary Elizabeth Jackson and Bently Gaston Woodward of Franklin County. He graduated from Bunn High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest College and a Masters from UNC at Chapel Hill. He was inducted into the U.S. Navy in 1943 and received an Honorable Discharge in 1946, serving in the Asiatic Pacific and the Philippines. He taught in high schools for 42 years in Bunn, Charlotte, Mecklenberg, Florida and Hawaii.

Surviving are many Beddingfield and Jackson relatives.

Memorials may be made to Pine Ridge Baptist Church, 865 Pine Ridge Road, Zebulon, NC 27597.
