JOSEPH P. “SHANKS” MEDLIN
LOUISBURG – Joseph Percy “Shanks” Medlin, 80, died Sunday morning, May 9, 2010. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 13, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home in Louisburg. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Faye C. Medlin, and his son, J.B. Medlin.

Surviving: son, Allen (Lynda) Medlin of Youngsville; daughter Penny (Wayne) Alford of Louisburg; sisters, Nancy (Toby) Dement of Franklinton, Edith (Ben) Wright of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; brother Roosevelt “Boo” (Frankie) Medlin of Rolesville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
