LAURINBURG-Ollie M. Wharton, 85, formerly of Franklinton, died May 24, 2010. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 27, in Fairview Cemetery, Franklinton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry O. Wharton, and brother, Charles Mattox.
Surviving: brothers, Fred Mattox of Darlington, SC, Johnny Mattox of Florence, SC and Carl Mattox of Darlington, SC; sisters, Betty Stanley of Wilmington, Peggy Smith of Wagram, and Connie Raber of Aberdeen; children, Rose Ann Norwood of Laurinburg, Bernard Norwood of McColl, SC, Richard Norwood of Rockingham, SC, Mickey Norwood of Birmingham, Ala., and Teresa Higgins of St. Augustine, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
