CAROLYN T. BULLARD
CHARLOTTE - Carolyn Timberlake Bullard, 80, died at Carolina’s Specialty Hospital, Charlotte, on Friday, June 4, 2010. A private, graveside service was held Monday, June 7, at Youngsville Cemetery in Youngsville, with the Rev. Dr. Layne Smith, her pastor, officiating.

She was born in Youngsville, a daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Claude V. Timberlake.  She graduated from Youngsville High School in 1947, attended Coker College for two years and graduated from Wake Forest University in 1951, a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.  She taught English and French in high school for a few years in Stanley and Mecklenburg counties.

She was a member of St. John’s Baptist Church.

Surviving husband, Byron L. Bullard; son, Byron L. Bullard Jr. (Heather);  a daughter, Leigh T. Bullard of Charlotte; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her three siblings: Capt. C.V. Timberlake, Jr., USN-retired; Willard C. Timberlake and Phyllis Timberlake Ross.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. John’s Baptist Church, 300 Hawthorne Ln., Charlotte, N.C. 28204.
