DOUG WALSTON
WAKE FOREST - Doug Walston, 74, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010 at Wake Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 25) in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Leslie Hartsfield officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

He was born in Wilson County, the son of the late Effie Godwin Walston and Adolph Oscar Walston. He was a retired lineman with Wake Electric and a veteran of the North Carolina National Guard.

Surviving: wife, Pat Walston; sons, Glenn Walston (Rhonda) of Wake Forest, Mike Walston of Youngsville; sister, Hazel Wainwright of Snow Hill; brothers, Phillip and Luther, both of Snow Hill, Ray and Donnie, both of Maryland; Ben of Michigan and Adolph of Selma.

Arrangements are by Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Wake Forest.
