M. LLOYD BARNHILL
YOUNGSVILLE—Mack “Lloyd” Barnhill Sr., 75, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Sept. 1) in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gary Vasser officiating. Entombment will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

He was born in Columbus County, the son of Noah M. D. Barnhill and Rose Ella Barnhill. He was co-owner/operator of Area Cab Transportation with his wife, Ann, and son, Mack.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Barnhill, and seven brothers and two sisters.

Surviving: siblings, Edna, Pauline Thelma, Elsie; children, Mack L. Barnhill Jr. (Carol) of Raleigh, Jeffery D. Barnhill (Charlotte) of Swansboro, Gary J. Barnhill, Carol Simmons, Sharon K. Hadley of Jacksonville, Kim Crawford (Joe) of Raleigh and Rita Richardson of Charlotte; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607 and/or to South Main Baptist Chapel, 104 Lakeside Ave., Louisburg, NC 27549.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
