ROY W. WHEELER
WAKE FOREST - Roy Washington Wheeler, 85, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at Pitt Memorial Hospital. A graveside service was held Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Wake Forest Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeff Chappell officiating.

He was born in Franklin County, the son of the late Henry Thomas Wheeler and Gussie Faulkner Wheeler. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy.

Surviving: son, Royce Wheeler (Pat) of Youngsville; sisters, Alma Lee of Butner, Ethel Ayscue of Butner and Colene Holland of Kenly; brother, Brooks Wheeler of Virginia; one grandson; one great-grandson;  two step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Brown Wheeler, and a sister, Annie Mae Wade.
