JOE C. MOORE
GREENSBORO - Joe Cannon Moore, 86, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. A memorial service will be held at Franklinton Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m., with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.

A native of Franklinton, he was born to the late Ernest L. Moore and Minnie Woodlief Moore. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II on the USS Henry A. Wiley. He worked for Burlington Industries for more than 37 years.

Surviving: wife, Hattie Ayscue Moore, a resident of the Arboretum, Greensboro; daughters, Deborah Moore of Key West, Fla., and Shanna Moore of Jamestown; brothers, Jimmy Randolph Moore of Chapel Hill and Ernest L. Moore of Greensboro; two granddaughters; and three step-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Frances Burger and Gladys Burwell, and a brother, Grant Moore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
