HAROLD E. PIPPIN SR.
ZEBULON - Harold Edmond Pippin Sr., 82, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2006 at the Carolina House of Wake Forest. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Wakefield Central Baptist Church, with Dr. Gattis Perry and the Rev. Horace Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.

He was born in Wake County to the late Theodore Clifton Pippin Sr. and Florence Finch Pippin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Johnston Community College as a road and field instructor, and later worked part time as a driver for Goodmark Foods.

Surviving: his wife, Emma Jean Pace Pippin; children, Mary Lou Murphy (Harold) of Louisburg, Harold Edmond (Eddie) Pippin Jr. (Ginger) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Nancy Gibson of Zebulon; sister, Mary Gray Fish of Fuquay-Varina; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Wakefield Central Baptist Church, 308 Proctor St., Zebulon, NC 27597 or to Alzheimer’s Association, Eastern NC Chapter, 400 Oberlin Road, Raleigh, NC 27605.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third Street, Wendell, and other times at the home.
