JESSIE G. “BUD” BALL
RALEIGH - Jessie Gray Ball, 88, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh. A funeral service was held Monday, March 21, at Friendship Baptist Church, Raleigh. Burial followed at Lancaster Memorial Park, Louisburg.

He was born in Franklin County to Jesse C. Ball and Mary Wester Ball. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and was employed with Westinghouse Corporation, retiring with more than 30 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Ball, and a sister, Ruby B. Watson.

Surviving: wife, Ruth S. Ball; sons, Dwight Ball (Terry) of Greensboro, Randy Gray Ball (Vikki) of Wake Forest; daughter, Brenda Joyce Clegg (Phil) of Durham; sisters, Hilda B. Boyer of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Hazel B. Kohlbecker of Tuscarora, Ill; eight grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Mission Fund, 5510 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.
