MARIE T. VALENTINE
April 11, 1939 – March 21, 2011
LOUISBURG – Marie Tillotson Valentine, 71, of Louisburg, died Monday evening.

Marie was a daughter of the late Stanley Lee and Lois Calvis Roberson Tillotson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice T. Wilder. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

The family would like to thank Sue Hunt for her loving care and support she has given to Marie and “Spoon”.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Wes Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park.

Marie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Claude “Spoon” Valentine; daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Gary Smith of Graham; son, Dexter Valentine of Pembroke, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth T. and Pete Smith of Louisburg; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur “Bo” and Judy Tillotson of Elon; brother- in-law, Louis Wilder of Louisburg.

The family will receive friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg.
