MRS. THELMA “LOUISE” HAWKINS BRIGHT
CHOCOWINITY, NC - Mrs. Thelma “Louise” Bright, age 86, a former resident of Bright Road, Chocowinity, died Friday, March 17, 2006 at Ridgewood Manor in Washington, NC.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 20, 2006 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home, Washington, conducted by D. J. Maxey. Burial followed in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

The following served as active pallbearers: Chris Bright, Bryan Lilley, Joe Stringer, Danny Moody, Vincenzo Cilluffo and Richard Potter. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Spivey and Johnny Anderson.

Mrs. Bright was born in Pantego, N.C. on March 2, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Hawkins and Ada Woolard Hawkins. Mrs. Bright was a homemaker. She was a member of the Haw Branch Church of Christ and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Greenville.

Mrs. Bright was married to Irving Theodore Bright, who preceded her in death, March 9, 1997.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Bright Dixon of Washington, Darlene Bright Dutton of Spartanburg, S.C.; two sons, Gary Thomas Bright of Chocowinity, Gregory Eugene Bright of Louisburg; six grandchildren, Cindy Dixon Stringer, Amy Dixon Moody, Courtney Elaine Dutton, Carolina Elizabeth Dutton, Christina Bright Lilley, and Christopher Daren Bright; and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bright was preceded in death by two brothers, John Robert Hawkins and Lawrence Hawkins, Jr.

The family received friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, and other times at the home of her son, Gary T. Bright, 715 Harding Lane, Chocowinity.

Memorials may be made to the Leo Jenkins Cancer Center, 600 Moye Boulevard, Greenville, NC 27858 or Asera Care/Beverly Home Care Hospice, P. O. Box 1645, Greenville, NC 27835.

Paul Funeral Home of Washington is serving the Bright family.
