FRANKLINTON —Phyllis Inez Pender West, 83, died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Funeral services were held Friday, July 1, at Cutchins Funeral Home chapel in Franklinton, with the Rev. Jeannette Pender officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Franklinton.

She was born in Granville County to the late Willie David Pender Sr. and Mary Davis Pender. She worked as a receptionist at Group Health Corporation of New York until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her companion, Thomas “TK” Kincaide, and her siblings, Willie David Jr., Dorothy Wilder and Elnora Teasley.

Surviving: two nephews, William Teasley of Oxford and Edward Teasley of Henderson; nieces, Carolyn Teasley Lee and Eva Teasley, both of Greensboro; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.
