LOUISBURG - Betty Jean Whitaker Outlaw died Monday night, July 18, 2011 at Wake Med in Raleigh. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 21, in the Hall Wynne Franklinton Chapel, with the Rev. Clyde Waiden officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

She was a native of Granville County and was the daughter of the late Vernon Thomas and Leana Vaughn Whitaker. She was of the Baptist faith and a housewife.

Surviving: daughters, Stephanie Turlington Boyd of Louisburg and Shirley Brobery of Centerville; sons, David Turlington of High Point, Keith Turlington of Lynchburg, Va., and Clifton Alford of Louisburg; sisters, Hallie Swanston of Alabama and Edith Conyers of Louisburg; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 21, from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the services in the Hall Wynne Funeral Chapel Franklinton. At other times, they will be at the home on Cooke Road.
