PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL - Selema Joyner Oxnevad, 86, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Palm Beach Gardens Hospice. A graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Louisburg will be planned at a later time.
She was born Pattie Selema Joyner in Nash County, N. C., and lived with her parents, Forrest and Iantha Joyner, in Louisburg during the time of her minority and later for a period of time during the 50s and 60s.
Surviving: husband, Louis F. Oxnevad, and daughters Wauna Westervelt, Regine Aman and Pattie Lou McElvy of Florida, and daughter Johnette McIntyre of Waldport, Ore.; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Forrest Joyner Jr., and one granddaughter, Jana Jones.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to a local area Hospice or Hospice of Palm Beach County, Inc., Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, 3360 Burns Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410.
