NORMAN S. BLEVINS
RALEIGH - Norman Smith Blevins, 83, died Saturday evening, Aug. 13, 2011 at his home. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at Blackwell Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery in Meadowview, Va.

He was born in West Virginia, the son of the late Georgia and Clarence Blevins, and was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean War.

Surviving: wife, Eleanor Arnett Blevins; children, Theresa O’Neal (Freddie) of Wake Forest, Tammy Stallings (Travis) of Zebulon and Jerry Blevins of Raleigh; sisters, Marcella Hayes of Marion, Va., and Shirley Anderson (Ralph) of Heber, Ariz.; four grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Blevins.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607; to Blackwell Chapel United Methodist Church, 8329 Blackwell Chapel Road, Meadowview, VA 24361, or to Mary’s Chapel Baptist Church, P. O. Box 263, Wake Forest, NC 27588.
